Collection: Guardian Bell
Legend of the Guardian Bell Legend has it that an old biker, on a bright and peaceful Christmas Eve night, in transporting some gifts to be delivered to children in a distant town, found himself passing through an area where there was a group of sprites, who, recognizing the roar of the motorcycle, hid at the exit of a bend and knocked the old biker off his bike, who was trapped under the weight of the bike. Upon recognizing the evil spirits, the biker grabbed some of the toys he was carrying and began to throw them at them in a desperate attempt to scare them away; seeing, however, that they did not give up and continued to advance, he grabbed a bell and, hoping to scare them away, took to ringing it as loudly as he could.
That same evening two bikers, after a beautiful day's ride, had camped nearby for the night, set up their beds, built a fire, and opened a couple of beers to relax, when, upon hearing the ringing of the bell, they sensed that someone was in trouble and got on their bikes to see what was going on. Upon reaching the place where the sound was coming from, they saw the motorcyclist lying on the side of the road and the spirits ready to jump on the motorcycle. Bound by the feeling of biker brotherhood they intervened, sending them away and helping the man.
Grateful, the biker offered to financially reward the two who had helped him, but they refused to accept the money. So that their gesture would not go unnoticed, the old biker decided to attach two bells to their bikes with leather ties, so that they could protect them as they had protected him.He tied them as close to the ground as possible, so that the goblins could see and hear them well, so that they would know that that biker was protected by other biker brothers, and that it was therefore better for them to stay away from that bike (another version of the legend says that the bells are used to imprison the goblins inside it, to drive them crazy with the noise and thus fall off).
Getting back to us, however, it is traditional for the Guardian Bell to be given as a gift by a friend, possibly a biker, and not bought for oneself; so in addition to its beneficial effect, it will always remind us that there is a friend who cares about us, and it will make us think of him whenever we look at it. Even today, it should also be tied under the bike, close to the asphalt, so that the Evil Spirits of the Road will hear the sound and keep away.
